El Desmadre via al Tren
On a sunny day,
morning time,
Lars spoke to a skater.
The skater told Lars
about a house party
where a skate video
would premiere.
Sounds familiar.
Did he dream this
in Spanish?
En el tren,
yo siento proximo
a un hombre
que tiene unas
Sam Adams
y vino.
El hombre ya se ha bebido una
Sam Adams.
Hablamos sobre à la lugares
que vamos.
El hombre dice que
va a una reunión en una casa.
Lars did, but
this is real.
Shortly before
sunset,
Lars pulls up
to the house.
The house was built in 1886.
It’s two-stories.
Big cement backyard.
Furnished with
colored glass art
and tarot decor.
It’s known for offering
a food pantry
out front
from sunrise to noon.
Lars runs into
a skater’s friend.
This is a reunion alright.
Lars met this person,
Torrey,
at a diner
because he worked there.
(Lars found out here that he had quit a while
back.)
Lars tried to
have conversations
with this person,
but he wasn’t receptive.
He wasn’t receptive at work.
Fair enough.
Lars ran into Torrey
in the streets.
Wasn’t receptive.
Lars met Torrey’s
friend at a convenience store.
Lars saw this skater’s
friend at the diner.
Lars had a conversation
with Crowley
at the diner.
He thought he could
speak to Torrey
now that he’s cool
with Crowley.
Wasn’t receptive.
At the house,
Lars greets Torrey.
Torrey actually
acknowledges him.
They actually have
a conversation
about writing
on skateboarding.
The point here,
reader, is that after
some time, Lars and Torrey
can be cool with one another
after Lars got past
his misunderstandings
about Torrey.
Lars and Torrey cheers’d
over a beer and
enjoyed the skate video.
Oh, and that skater
who told Lars about the skate video
watch party,
Lars said what’s up
to him and met
his baby mama
and baby.
